Choose the sound
Young people explore ideas, themes and a selection of appropriate beats, then choose the direction they want to build together.
A First Nations-led creative experience where young people build an original song from their own ideas, professionally record it, develop the visual concept and star in a finished music video.
Young people are supported through the full creative journey. No previous music, writing, recording or filmmaking experience is required.
Young people explore ideas, themes and a selection of appropriate beats, then choose the direction they want to build together.
We guide the group through verses, hooks, rhythm, storytelling and positive messaging so every participant can contribute.
Using a portable professional recording setup, participants record vocals and experience the real creative production process.
The group develops a simple visual concept, performs for camera and becomes part of a professionally edited music video.
Music is the engagement tool. The broader value is confidence, teamwork, self-expression, digital literacy and the experience of completing something real.
Young people's ideas are treated seriously and developed into a polished creative outcome.
Participants choose what they want the song to say and how they want their story represented.
Writing, recording and filming create natural opportunities to collaborate, listen and contribute.
Lyrics and performance provide accessible ways to explore thoughts, experiences and positive messages.
Participants experience how audio, camera, performance and post-production come together.
The final song and music video create a lasting, tangible record of what the group achieved together.
The program brings the recording experience directly to young people and gives them a practical role in creating the finished work.

Designed for a focused small-group experience where young people have meaningful time to write, record and appear in the finished production.

UNMUTED is designed for schools, councils, community organisations, youth services and programs looking for genuine engagement with a visible creative outcome.
Music and video offer a strong entry point for young people who may not connect with traditional workshop formats.
The commission ends with a defined professional output: an original song and a professionally edited music video.
Approved creative outputs can help demonstrate participation, engagement and project completion to stakeholders.
Participants influence the beat, lyrics, themes, performance and visual direction rather than receiving a pre-made activity.
The format can be shaped around school, community, cultural and organisational needs while keeping the core creative pathway intact.
A successful pilot can become an ongoing program across schools, communities, regions or youth-program periods.
Recording young people requires careful planning. Final delivery is confirmed around the host organisation's supervision, venue requirements, child-related work obligations and participant/media permissions.
The program can be tailored, but the core promise stays simple: young people help create the music and story, and the project ends with a professional finished outcome.
Tell us who you're working with, where the program would run and what you'd like young people to get from it. We'll confirm fit, scope and the right delivery plan before anything is locked in.
